CPAR NFP - Specialized Knowledge and Applications

CPAR GOV/NFP - Vol. 2019 - No. 3 - 03 - What Nonprofits Need to Know About Tax Exemption

Course Overview
Most nonprofits know little about what is involved in their status as a tax-exempt organization. In fact, not all nonprofits are tax-exempt; in order to obtain that status they must file a Form 1023 or 1024. Kaplan Financial Education instructor Allen Fetterman reviews the application process, explains the benefits of being tax-exempt and describes the activities that could jeopardize a nonprofit's tax-exempt status.
