CPAR NFP - Accounting & Financial Reporting

CPAR GOV/NFP - Vol. 2020 - No. 2 - 03 - NFPs and COVID-19 - The Unwanted Gift

Course Overview
The coronavirus has negatively impacted all businesses, including nonprofit organizations on a global scale. In March 2020, the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) of America conducted a survey, including 544 organizations in 93 countries, in an effort to learn how COVID-19 affected their organizations and how they are coping in their communities. Approximately 95% of the participating organizations reported that government level restrictions have negatively impacted them, 68% had decreased funding and reported difficulties in reaching donors, while 34% experienced increased operational costs. Ronald Ries, CPA, business consultant, gives us an overview of the overall impact of COVID-19 on not-for-profit organizations.
