Brand licensing is often viewed as a balance of risk and reward, a marriage that has a finite life and can end with an amicable or a nasty divorce. However, those relationships create legal as well as ethical challenges. Our crew was able to record a panel discussion addressing ethics in brand licensing. The panelists, Maura Regan, president, Licensing International, Marshall Mizrahi, vice president, Handcraft Manufacturing Corp., Elisheva Jasie, head of partnership & licensing, Vicente & Partners LLP, and Elizabeth Henries, lawyer and managing manager, Henries PLLC, addressed how technological changes have affected the licensing industry, what kind of changes they have witnessed in the past decade and what they anticipate seeing in the near future.
Work experience in a corporate staff environment, or an introductory course in ethics.
