FMN - 2019/October, Seg.2 - The Invisible Wall: The New U.S. Immigration Policy

Course Overview
Immigration violations can result in substantial civil, and even criminal, penalties. Along with those sanctions comes “bad press,” which can do lasting harm to an enterprise’s reputation. Current government policies have resulted in the creation of an "invisible wall” that serves as a deterrent to businesses and others from utilizing the talents of much-needed skills. As a result, many enterprises are discouraged from recruiting or employing foreign workers, as the current immigration process feels uncertain and unpredictable. Roxanne Levine, a partner in Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP, discusses the impact that the so-called “invisible wall” is having on the business and labor environment.
